Thank you! I get what you are saying about the 'main' part. What I play in the video I consider to be the 'lead' parts, however, as far as the mix goes I wanted to do what worked best for the mix, and often times I prefer the leads to be a tad bit in the background to let the rythm parts take up...

TesseracT Nocturne Cover

Did an instrumental cover of TesseracT's "Nocturne". All guitars and bass is Axe-Fx. Tried to do a very minimalistic approach to the guitars, there are literally like only highpass and lowpass filters and some high shelf in there, rest is just 100% direct from the Axe!. Hope you enjoy! (:

What's the quickest way to audition different cabinets?

Don't know if this is what you're asking, but iof you look up a cab on the wiki, it suggests cabs that might fit well with that particular amp. At least helped me narrow down the cabs I test a bit.

Melodic Progressive Metal(-ish) with Video Playthrough!

So, I decided to record on my old bands songs for fun. Axe-Fx 2 for all guitar and bass processing. For the rythm patch I used the Das Metall amp, BB Pre Drive, 43 4x12 Recto with RE16 blended with 63 4x12 German with U87. Hope you enjoy!

I think what you are trying to say is, music > tone, as in writing good music is better than having the perfect tone. Which is pretty spot on, actually! But if you really (really) can't tell any difference at all between distorted guitar sounds, then you yourself might be the "odd" one out. As...

FRACTAL LEAD/POD FARM RHYTHM

It only took me a couple of days before I felt my Axe-Fx 2 patches exceeded my Podfarm (had an UX2) patches. Would be nice to see how your Axe-Fx patches sound, maybe we can give you a few headers!

I'm sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes here, just voicing my opinion! I know the Wiki is probably the single best resource we've got right now, but there's always room for improvement. What I would want is some kind of document that goes over each parameter, explaining very straight-forward...

I thought it would go without saying that I'm very well aware of the Wiki's existence. I thought something OTHER than the wiki, which is both better structured but also updated (Cliff himself stated the Wiki's outdated earlier in the thread.)

I would actually love some in-depth, updated version of what exactly all the amp parameters does (more elaborate then the manual), preferably from Cliff's side. I think many Axe 2 owner's feel they have no clue about what the different parameters does!

Make-A-Tone Challenge!

(So I apologize if a thread like this has already been created, I searched around a bit but didn't find anything.) Something I like to do when trying to come up with new tones is just picking an amp at random, picking a cab at random and pretend that's the only combination I have at the time...

Help! Lost connection when upgrading to FW12.

So I have my Axe-Fx 2 connected to my PC via USB, and tried to upgrade via Fractal-Bot. So I downloaded the syx-file, sent it to the Axe-Fx 2 and then perhaps 85% in it lost connection. Now the Axe is stuck in "File transfer in progress" and I don't know if I dare reboot it in fear of screwing...

Help with demo recording

You can't put mics in the Axe, so the drum part is a no-no. Also, in theory I think it would be possible to record 4 tracks simultaneously, but only tracks 1 and 2 FROM the Axe to Reaper would be the processed sound of the Axe, 3 and 4 are just dry signal. So you can record 2 guitar/bass tracks...

Tweaking the axe-fx : Scratchyness?!

Now I have no idea if what yolu are describing is the same problem I have had the last couple of days, but got it to a more comfortable level by decreasing 'Definition' in the amp block and putting a Graphic EQ before the amp and decreasing the frequencies around 1-4 KHz a couple of DB's.

This is actually a great idea. Especially the DI-trading. This could be accompanied with a future update to Axe-Edit where your able to load in WAV-files directly into the program instead of having to open your DAW!

Any Axe Fx III news on the horizon ? (check before I buy a II ;))

I just got mine yesterday. As I have understood, the II already has tons of more processing power than is actually used, so if ot's anything needing an upgrade it's software and not hardware, so a III might take a while. But if/when the III is announced I'll probably start saving right away...

^Thanks man. I created an empty preset, named it "New Preset", then in Axe-Edit I just pressed CTRL+SHIFT+S (using Windows), overwrote the first preset in the C bank, pressed enter, and repeated 'til they were all cleared, haha. Thought this was the most efficient way to do it. Got some hours...
