Axe-Fx II Firmware 18.01 Released

Just upgraded, but now my computer sounds aren't working through the Axe FX. Any suggestions? I didn't change anything on the computer. Just upgraded the Axe FX, then nothing. The Axe FX still works fine with guitar, it just isn't working as a general interface with the computer..

How good exactly are Axe-Fx II's cleans

Metal guy here, but if you put a gun to my head and asked me what the unit does best, I'd say cleans. They're fantastic.

What don't you miss from your old amps before you picked up an Axe?

I don't miss anything about any of them, other than how awesome they look. I'm still keeping them, though. As much as I love my Axe, I still love my Recto and Transatlantic. I have yet to find anything that gives the clean tone I can get with the Transatlantic.. I should probably just tone match it.

Cliff, a question about future amp models.

Hard to sound like something that doesn't exist in the real world! He's looking for something that isn't anything real. Another FAS creation. Something that would spawn a quote like "Man I wish I could get a sound like the one on the Axe FX II." Rather than the other way around.

Thanks for the feedback! No access to a bass at the moment, but I just ordered one. I will give what you said a shot and see what happens. I've got a long ways to go to learn how to mix well, so I value every piece of criticism.

New to digital, will the Axe FX be able to replace my Two-Rock boutique amp ?

I think I have everything set correctly.. I get sounds from my headphones connected to my PC when the Axe is off, but not when it's on. Good there.. Now I'm having issues once the DAW is active. Recording isn't even an option at this point. When I start the metronome, not only am I not getting...

Reaper, but I'm not getting any sounds outside of the DAW, either. If it can be used as a soundcard I should be able to play music through Windows Media Player (for example), right? I'm on Windows 7. Are you referring to the playback/recording settings in Sound -> Manage Audio Devices? If so...
