Axe fx II tonestack eq testing

I posted in a forum that was moved to the review forum that I was perceiving that the amps eq: low mid high and presence knobs set at 2.5 were sounding to me as the equivalent of setting them at 5 in the real amp. Nothing wrong with that, I am having absolutely no problems dialing awesome tones...

Well... i just got my Matrix gt1000fx...

Different High gain amps in axe fx ii FW ver 5

Heres a clip with 8 different amp patches I made. Recorded with mic and cab. Description in soundcloud. Perhaps there will be a lack of low end which happened after I applied a high pass which was a bit tooo much... low end was crazy when recorded.

Last thought on grid modeling.... wanted to share

I first bashed the grid modeling but it was because my ear was used to not having it.... truth be told.... its necessary and it WORKS. Makes sense and gives each amp its uniqueness in sound. I made 8 patches from 001 to 008 with the high gain model amps and they all sound different and unique...

The peavey classic 50 50 poweramp works really well with the axe!

Just wanted to share my experience. I was using the axe fx just as a preamp and effects processor through the peavey classic power amp and while it sounded cool there was something missing from where i ran it through my 5150 head. Even with using the prescence and resonance at 1 o clock there...
