Charvel GG Signature through AX-8

New Guitar Day usually brings with it lots of inspiration and ideas. It sounded so great with the AX-8 a new original suddenly appeared - which happens maybe once a year :D I am in love with this guitar - it plays beautifully and have lots of sound possibilities with the coils split.

Protector for playing live

I bring a small black towel that i have ready - this way I can clean up any liquid pretty fast. I ended up covering the AX8 with the towel on a rowdy gig - I only had the bottom row buttons available most of the time on the gig. Whatever works ...

How do you set up Button configuration live

I have used 1-4 for scenes and 5-8 for dedicated effects in my live setup for about a year now but changed it a little yesterday. I changed #8 - turned off global and set it to Per Preset - this allows me to have one pedal that can vary pr preset. A need came up and voila the AX8 delivers again.

AX8 vs FX8 now which one to buy???

I am sure there will be other differences but the AX8 will be more expensive due to amp/cab addition. I am really hoping the 4cm will work OK with the AX8. If the AX8 end up with the pay for effects/amps etc then he might as well have one floor product and you can use it buying whatever block...

Presonus sceptre s8 pair or atomic clr?

I have the Atomic CLR for live use - but are looking for a pair of studio monitors for my DAW. I would also like to use them for playing the Axe at home as I cant have both due to lack of space. The S8 are too big so I am looking at the S6. Anybody tried those with the Axe ?

Axe FX8 with BE100 to switch clean/dirty and BE to HBE

I have the BE100 as well and plan to use the FX8 in a similar way - eliminating the amp footswitch would be very practical so I am hoping this works !

I recently bought myself a GoPro cam - what a fun little gadget. Of course I had to strap it on my guitars while gigging. The first part is with a Marshall amp so feel free to skip ahead to the 2 minute mark when I use the AxeFx II. The GoPro doesn't capture audio all that great but not bad...

Well I guess I was not far off considering openmind agreed with me :-) I stand by what I posted ... yes .. the axe will give a part of the sound .. the guitar as well .. but MOSTLY it's in the fingers :-)

It's probably just one of the stock presets ... he can make any of them sound this good! It's all in the fingers ... and having a Suhr with Doug Aldrich pups probably helps a little as well :-)

FW Update issues

I reported the issue with G66 on tuesday ... friday I had the PROM in my mailbox - installed it using the enclosed instructions - up and running again now and everything is working. And it didn't cost me anything .. thanxs again to G66 for excellent service ! Haven't had time to post before now...

I don't know. I guess complicated electronics do have parts that my be faulty just like a computer. This does not seem to be a problem that happens a lot but of course it's stressful for those who happens to be affected.

I saw your clip just now .. I made a demo of the same song haha .. when playing those chords you get INSTANT VH mojo. I still play the preset for hours on end .. your clip sounded great btw !! Just made a live preset with 5 scenes .. adding Flanger, Phaser, Delay, Solo-boost on the various scenes.

Had a lot of fun jamming with this backingtrack ... it's forces you to be creative. I found a Plexi preset - added Flanger & Enhancer - tweaked the Delay and voila .. sort of like a Zappa sound. Here's my take:
