Adjusting to gapless

Tonight was the first night jamming with the band with the FM9. I've been using the FM3 up until tonight (well, standard, then II, then ax8, then III, then FM3). But my shiny new FM9 with gapless switching came last week and I got her all setup and ready for tonight's jam.

I found that I was hitting buttons to change sounds about a half-second early to account for the gap without even realizing it. Now with gapless, I have to re-train my muscle memory to hit the buttons when the actual sound change is needed. Never thought I would say that LOL. Everything sounded so freakin good

Yes sir. I also noticed that I was switching in anticipation of the gap and with gapless that is no longer necessary

I've just gone from FM3 to FM9, this is a BIG DEAL!

Hopefully all models will be gapless soon and gaps will be a distant memory and muscle memory will fade away

I had the same thing happen when using my Axe-Fx III during rehearsals before gapless moved on the FM9. It was a drastic difference.

Definitely have been having to retrain my timing as well. Good problem to have
