Does “upgrade all presets” get us the default values of the updated parameters? Or do we still need to do a reset of the amp blocks ?

FM3 Firmware Version 8.00 beta 1

Have a couple of shows this weekend. Was planning on taking my Axe fx 3, mainly due to gapless switching and the 2203 models. But now, I think I’m just going to do the beta update and go with the FM3. Don’t see any real issues reported, thanks to all of you early adopters.

Are buttons a must

I’d go with the FM9. Portable, has dual amps and plenty of foot switches should the need arise. The hundreds of amp models available are extremely detailed and accurate. I have the fx3 and never found a reason to tone match unless I want to cop an album tone exactly. And even then, it’s usually...

CONFESSION: I put same pickups in most guitars....

I love the Suhr ssh+ humbucker, works for almost anything and I like the split sound too. Need to try out the thornbucker.

We’ve done this a few times with lights. My suggestion is not to use the FM3 as the midi brain. You’ll avoid a lot of problems and frustration by making your Mac the master. Then distribute midi to your FM3 for scene changes, to a midi to dmx converter for lights. All of which can be sync’d to a...
