Any Linux bros here? (Axe-FX III as interface)

That pretty much covers it! Do you use the Axe-FX for any mix monitoring or do you only use it for laying down DI guitar? My frustration with Logic's PDC led me to Bitwig and I'm pretty much hooked on its deep modulation system. As long as I can use the Axe-FX as a basic usb compliant interface...

Any Linux bros here? (Axe-FX III as interface)

I'm dealing with an audio crackling issue on a T2 MBP 16" i9 2019 that cost $3000 USD, an issue that Big Sur did not correct. The T2 chip just caused an absolute clusterf*ck of issues. So, politely, and with respect, I'm really in no mood to discuss macOS's stability when their hardware 5 years...

Any Linux bros here? (Axe-FX III as interface)

I'm going through my yearly "threatening to drop macOS" phase again and it got me thinking... has anyone used their Axe-FX III as an audio interface under Linux?

Logic X: settings for recording analog outs back into analog ins (convertor accuracy test)

Gang, Please see this thread here: https://www.gearslutz.com/board/gear-shoot-outs-sound-file-comparisons-audio-tests/607481-evaluating-ad-da-loops-means-audio-diffmaker.html and this app here: http://www.libinst.com/Audio%20DiffMaker.htm Basically, that thread at GS gives details on...

Fractal Audio AMP models: Citrus Bass 200 (Orange AD200B)

I prefer the Citrus just a smidge -- just a smidge -- over the SV bass. Love both of those. USA 2 is pretty good for my active bass, but USA 1 and FAS bass don't do much for me.

    The "ML Secret" finally revealed

Wow, it's pretty complex... it had a boatload of externals attached to various things (I'm guessing AX8 assignable switches?) that I had to delink. But looking at your patch definitely confirmed some things for me -- multi-delay[diffusion]->chorus->reverb.

    Strymon BigSky style verb!?

    I'm guessing this: 412 MAR-CB V30 Expansion

    No mud, mid-light IRs

Hi gang, I'm not a guitar player, but I pretend to be one when I write and record. My basses through my Axe-FX sound great -- it's an awesome box, I know what I'm doing, and my tones sit wonderfully in the mix (I write rather bass-centric, ambient-ish prog/rock/instrumental pop). Guitar --...

bass: setting up crossover for multiple cabs

Your WAL??? I don't like you, jimfist (j/k!!!) I came from Ibanez at a different angle... I really wanted to dislike them. All the biases/stereotypes applied -- "they're Nu-Metal", "too thin", etc. The neck was surprising. I expected to not like the lack of heft, but I took to it almost...

bass: setting up crossover for multiple cabs

Yep, totally a Geddy tone. A tad less grindy. It's funny, felt the same way about the Ibanez in the past... way too many models to suss out, body too ergonomic in a bad 90s kind of way, etc. But I'll say this -- the Ibanez sounds a ton better than my Rick at the moment because I can...

bass: setting up crossover for multiple cabs

I've considered this as well. At least for bass (my primary instrument), in the past I've always preferred direct/DI sound. Just a rough FYI of my general tone -- I dig your basic, run of the mill jazz bass tone with a bit of grind and definitely favor mids. I generally bump around 1.2khz for...

bass: setting up crossover for multiple cabs

Recording/DAW only, yes. So, how useful/practical multi cabs are for that application, I'm not sure. EDIT: Part of this experiment has been toning down the aluminum cab. I love the tone of Hartkes/aluminum, but they can be overly bright and overbearing. Adding a 1x15 seemed to balance things...

bass: setting up crossover for multiple cabs

Thanks Selta, very informative... this is strictly headphone only stuff though. I was messing around with my preset and thought it might be fun to set up a multi cab preset. So no off axis stuff going on, simply listening via my AH-MT50s. I'm still going to dig into crossover stuff to mess with...

bass: setting up crossover for multiple cabs

Hi guys, Yes, I just RTFM, but I'm dense, and it's been a loooooong time since my club days when I lugged a GK head and cabs around. What I'm trying to do is setup a baseline for a fairly typical bass preset -- an amp with two cabs. I'd like to use a crossover to feed my lows into 1x15, and...
