CPU Usage: Axe III vs. FM9?

I have the axe 3 and fm9. The main patch for the 3 had my distortion patch with my clean patch all in one. I could not migrate over to the FM9 due to CPU limits. My work around was to break the 3's main patch into two (distortion and cleans) on the FM9. I used songs/ sets to get around this...

Can you turn off EQ block across all user made presets with global control?

From my system it would seem the third time falls of the, Cliff,,,, Does not hold up at all. first two sound the same with two passes of the clips.
