Latency is not 0. There are buffers. That is how PCM digital audio works. See you interface in your computer. But it is very low and yes, if you wanted to run 96kHz it would require more processing power... but technically the latency is lower. There is, of course, a tradeoff.

Well, somewhat. They can produce a mangled 22k signal... and I would argue a mangled 12.25k signal... and so on. Go down into the real concepts. They have been feeding us the lie that 44.1k can do up to 22k.... well, it just isn't true in the real world.

That is the beauty of America. We can each believe what we want. I know, that for me, hi res makes a huge difference. I gave up evangelizing that long ago. If you just hear Eddie's guitar in hi-res vs CD... ah.... just has more kick. But... that is just me and most everyone I have played it for...

In a way, this makes me happy. I'll save $2499! That is a killer new amp and I will be happy with my Ax-8 for playing live. Or even better, a new high-end acoustic(okay, half of one). That is really all I wanted to know. Thanks for the information.

That is too bad if true. I rarely listen to < 88k anymore. I prefer real amps ever since I got used to hearing the clarity of higher resolutions. 192 and then 384 just sound amazing, not to mention DSD64 and up. That would be the final nail in the coffin if you mixed Cliff's algorithms with the...
