    RIP Chuck Berry

So much music from decades gone is fantastic, but definitely belongs to its time. But some music seems to transcend time. Johnny B Goode would be as mind blowing if it were released for the first time today. Such energy, such technique. RIP.

New well recorded Dumble ODS tone sample

They really should have put another amp for comparison. It is difficult to assess a sound in isolation. It's certainly a nice tone, but I imagine that guitarist with those guitars can get a nice tone through a lot of amps.

Any local Ibanez experts? Can I pick your brains?

What you say here is true. It is also quite obvious. I don't think anyone here thinks by putting a Ferrari badge on a Ford, the said Ford will suddenly become a super car. I think you have picked a couple of extreme points, and wildly extrapolated. The Ibanez Premium is not a $50 guitar made in...

Any local Ibanez experts? Can I pick your brains?

I find the logic puzzling. I tried a guitar, loved it, and now own it. I personally don't care where it was made. It looks superb, plays like a dream and sounds great. The resale value point is fair, if that is an issue for you. Nothing says I know a good guitar more than having to buy over...

Any local Ibanez experts? Can I pick your brains?

Go to a store and try them. Amazing guitars. I ended up getting a Premium. I just loved the model. https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/S970WRW-NT/solid-body-electric-guitars/ibanez-s970wrw-electric-guitar-in-natural

Axe Fx just for home: who else does it?

I think there is still a lot of sanity in the pricing of guitars and related equipment. For £1500 I can buy a Strat Deluxe which is a beautiful guitar and will give years of pleasure. Don't buy what you cannot afford. At the same time, if you are going to use something a lot, spend what you can...

    Mellotron Sound?

This endeavour has a serious risk of poor returns. The potential to spend an age trying to get the sound, only to find there are very limited uses. If you want that kind of sound, may be worth checking out EZKeys. Great song writing tool for those of us who don't play keyboard.

    AX8: Hendrix-ish tone

Yeah actually upon a second listen, it seems to borrow bits from both. Okay I salute you again! This time for adding your own flavour.

    AX8: Hendrix-ish tone

Sounds cool. I salute you for playing the Hendrix version! Never understood why the SRV version gets so much cover-time. "Apologies to Jimi" - :tearsofjoy:

    Pick Shootout!

There's just something about the on-the-verge-of-breaking-up sound that I never tire of. Will have a play around with the Citrus when I can. Interesting about the cab packs. One has to wonder just how many significantly different sounding cabs there can really be.

    New Camera and the AX8

Insane clarity. What pickups are in that Jackson? I keep asking this lately as I'm thinking of replacing the ones in my Ibanez.

    Pick Shootout!

Hardly anything in it tbh. Amazing sound though. What setup in the AxeFX are you using?

Who is the Leo Fender of today?

Do you think anyone will be using what is essentially the same AxeFX in the year 2090? Will people be paying crazy prices for 2016 AxeFXs as they created a inimitable sound? Leo Fender had a great advantage in that the most enduring of music was played on the instruments he created.

    Old Musicians

I saw Paul McCartney playing at the Queen's Jubilee celebrations. His singing was beyond awful, unrecognisable. Time waits for no man. Saying that, I think Clapton sounds better now.

    Check out this guitar :)

Which pickups did you put in it?
