Calling Ibanez Az2402 owners - is there something wrong with my new guitar?

I own a lot of AZs and love them but also have to tell you, that i don't get along too well with the Hyperion PUs. Too much mids and too much output. That's ok at the bridge position but it's not easy to get bluesy or funky tones at the neck. Guess that's why they swapped to the Fortuna PUs on...

Favorite Drive pedal with High Gain Amp

Depends on what you want to achieve. Many producers look for Drive pedals to boost, but also pronunce the mids around 70Hz and cut the bass to get rid of the flubbiness - the TS or the SD/OD-1 will do that job great!

Marshall Plexi #39 Mod Tone Match

I tried but never seemed to get that same sound. There´s the 800 Mod and the #34 Mod among the Axe Modesl-maybe you could take it from there with a bit of tweaking?

I know what you mean - i´ve gotten rid the bright cap - otherwise you´d be able to cut glas with the #39:). This one still has enough brightness though

Hey Folks, wanted to share with you the TM i did with my #39 modded Plexi! Just use the 800 Mod Amp, attached for your Library and the .syx file in the cab block-no additonal Cab IR needed. The orginal file had a little bumb at 600Hz - notch that to your taste;) Enjoy!

Dyna Cabs...why don't I get it?

I guess there are different types of users....there are the profilers and the tweakers, there are the IR-Guys and the Dynacab guys...nothing to be ashamed of - both can get great results (Confession: i also prefer the right IRs and set & forget). Rejoice for having a platfom that gives you both...

About the role of a compressor

I only use a subtle compressor for cleans to bring it a bit more upfront... I mainly use the studio compressors in the AxeFx and try not to get a pumping squashing sounds. I always compare it back and front with the compressor off and on to get to the point where it's just a tiny bit more in...

I´d also keep in mind, that Blackmores Sound changed over the years. In the early days he also used way weaker pickups like the Custom 69, then changed to longer magnets during the Rainbow LLRnR times and later he had these fat F500T Schecter PUs...

I´d really love to see a BE-OD Model in the Drive Block. For the most Gigs i use the FM9 into the FOH but there are occasions where i plug into a clean amp and get my Rhythmsound from a BE-OD pedal. I know it sound silly to model a pedal that is based on an amp that we have in the amp block...

Great Update - thanks! I was just wondering: would it be technically possible to emulate different impedance curves in the cab block when using the X-Load + real amp and the AxeFx as Cab Loader? Or is this just a mechanically process?

Hiwatt model doesn't sound as big as the Twins/Blackface Fenders

For my experience the Cabs take a huge part in the "Hiwatt"-Sound, like Fane "Purple Back". Dr. Bonkers and Ownhammer have some and of course there are some in the AxeFx. I love the Dr. Bonkers 4X12_BIGW_414_414_DBS combined with the 4X12_BIGW_414_81_DBS Try Gain at Max, Bass at 3, Mid at 5...
