    FM3-Edit 1.01.01

Since rolling back Axe-Edit to the previous version would knock out support for firmware version 1.02, I rolled the firmware back to version 1.01 instead. Other than having to rebuild all the presets that I built under 1.02, I couldn't get it to freeze, and I rebuilt my main patch from scratch...

    FM3-Edit 1.01.01

I have got the same thing here on a PC. It only started happening after I upgraded to latest software and FM3-Edit version, and only when they are connected. I cannot get the FM3 to freeze on it’s own. I am going to try rolling back FM3-edit and see if I can get it to freeze up.

Any word of a new AX8?

I hope not. I own a FC6, a FC12, and an AX8. While the FC6 is indeed a very powerful unit for a 6 button unit, I found it to be quite limiting compared to the 11 button AX8. There was a lot more pedal dancing required to make Axe FX III do the same things that I do with an AX8. Something like a...

    Pitch block limitation workaround ideas?

Why are you trying to use a whammy for a bottle slide?

Was there ever a consideration of different OS's for different types of players?

The question I ask is, is something missing? Are all the letters there in the alphabet of tone? In my mind, they are there. Leave it to the third party developers and the users to spell the specific words. A lot of these amps that are missing have similar architectures to ones that are there...

FC-6/12: Any Thoughts On How You'll Configure Yours?

It depends on whether or not you can program one of the buttons to change to different modes on a hold down like the AX-8. Then, it's just a matter of shrinking my AX-8 layout by two buttons. Buttons 1-4 Scene Cues for scenes 1-4. Button 5 Tempo, Hold for Tuner Button 6 Bank down, Hold to...

Using two guitars for live show

I use a GXLD. All you have to do is switch the body pack on the guitar you were using off and turn the body pack on the one you picked up on. The receiver and the transmitter find each other.

Anyone notice anything weird with plugging in active electronics?

This is probably an unanswerable question. I recently bought a Gary Grainger 5 string bass with an active preamp in it. When you plug it into an Axe-FX III or IIXL, the signal goes too loud and then too soft before settling like it's hunting for the right input setting. Initially, I thought it...

So, what's everyone's favourite amp model?

Discovery of the Day... 058: 5F8 Tweed

I can vouch for that. It was practically the only amp that I used for the last theater show which was Return to the Forbidden Planet. With my wood library PRS 509, it nailed the classic 50's and 60's tones.

Can the vets lessen the learning curve for noobs?

When I was still playing a zenTera, I worked through Dave Hunter's Guitar Amp Handbook, so I would have a broader understanding of tube amps. That book is just broad enough to cover most of the amp families that exist, and you learn some history as well which can be fun. Then, you play around...
