Axe-Master
Just got home and saw the update -schweet! I looked at the DL page and saw this.....

... Which I had never heard about before, and therefore never done, with no mal effect whatsoever as far as I know.

What might I have caused? What bullet have I been dodging?

Thanks!

it can send midi data to the MFC, for example, when updating the Axe. it has corrupted things before.

it's always smart to unplug extra things when updating any unit.

Updating to 12.04b cause my Axe to crash. Had to order the EPROM. It sucked not being able to use my Axe for a week (and yeah, I bitched and moaned...). But, it's all better.

My MFC was connected.

I asked them to include that note. They listen. What a wonderful company.

Now of course, the EPROM is installed, so if it happens again, I'm good.

And the XL comes with one installed.

I discovered why my effects weren’t switching on an off, it was the ribbon cable in the MFC, so a quick break down and re-seat all the ribbon cables fixed that issue. The update still pushes the GEQ and a lot of models well and truly into the red along with messing with the regeneration values on delay settings, so all is far from perfect and there is no way in hell that I’d update without a free week to go back and fix potential cock-ups
