XLR to DAW - Does DAW Sample Rate Have Top Be 48k

I'm going to a studio and never use the XLR outputs. If going XLR to their DAW, do they need to set their sample rate to 48k?

No. Only USB audio, S/PDIF (and maybe AES?) forces sample rate to 48. They can run it at whatever they like.

Thanks for the posts folks. Was too busy to respond but your posts helped. Session went well.

Notalemming, It was XLR and not AES XLR.

Side note - I get to the studio at 3:30 where my son was finishing laying down his tracks. I was supposed to have over an hour to track guitars.

Son: "Dad, plan change. We have to be done by 4:00"
Dad: Load in Axe-FX III, FC-12 + 2 expression pedals, set up and plug in XLR to DAW, pull out guitar, tune-up, record guitars, tear down and load out in 30 minutes!!

Fastest load-in/out with tracking I've EVER done in my life!

Oh, I even set-up my laptop so I could make a tweak via Axe-Edit.

Side-note: I think that's the first physical "instrument" that studio has ever seen. They do some great work for the genre they target. Interesting stepping into that world having coming from the 80's metal/rock scene.

The people coming in after us, seeing my guitar and stuff, had a look on their faces like they just saw a Unicorn.
