XLR or 1/4 to mixer?

Hi!
I am using the AX8 by a couple of months and usually register with SPDIF without any problems.
My question is':
you go out with XLR to go at the entrance to the mixer?
Ever have trouble if the phantom and 'inserted?
Use the AX8 of + 4db or -10db?
Or use 1/4 outputs?

Thanks so much

XLR handles long runs a lot better than TRS. Use it whenever possible.
SORRY, but that's NOT ACCURATE. XLR and TRS are the same thing.. BALANCED signal support!!
The only advantage between the 2 is with XLR you can ground the hot tip when plugging in, so no pops.

If you meant XLR over TS (guitar-type cable), then yes, you would be correct.

You are correct sir. I was thinking TS.

Some mixers/interface combo jacks are wired so that the XLR is mic level and can be phantom powered, but TRS is Line Level and never connected to phantom power. Using XLR (AX8) to TRS (mixer) seems safest in the dive venue world of dodgy gear, routing and grounding. I use XLR to TRS cables and carry XLR to TRS adapters in the old kit bag. I would expect the AX8 offers some protection against +48v, but, nervous Nelly that I am, why take a chance? I don't plug the AX8 into any connector that is phantom powerable.

I just wrote to the official fractal support about the phantom+ AX8 issue.
They simple answer was the following:
"The AX8 is protected against phantom power."
