XL Plus Input Sensitivity

I have my XL set to about 20% input sensitivity; that's where my 'loudest' instruments hit the red LEDs. IIRC that's where my II was set (in the pre-XL days) as well.

I just received a Plus Monday, and I spent a good bit of yesterday moving user cabs, patches, etc. And I noticed that the sensitivity on the Plus is WAY higher - to get similar LED behavior, I had to set the input to 3%.

That doesn't sound right.

IIRC isn't there a difference between the II's and XL's input circuitry?
Might be what's causing the difference?

They're both XLs. One is Plus, one is not.

My XL+ is my first one so I have no comparison but I have my input set on what seem to me to be really low levels too. I know the manual says that whatever it is, it is but seems like it's very low to me too at 20% or below.

I'd expect the two to behave similarly.

It would seem, barring clarity here, that perhaps the LED strip in my Plus is a little 'sensitive'?

I only brought my previous II into the discussion to indicate that ~20% is 'what I'm used to', that is my guitars have always required a 20% setting up until now.

According to the WiKi there were minor improvements to the front end electronics on the XL +. Maybe this is what you are experiencing?

Input sensitivity is part of factory test so this is a bit strange.

For reals. I thought I was low hovering around 45 to 50, but 3% sounds odd.
