X-Load Ground Lift

Received my X-Load LB-2 today. I must say, hats off to @FractalAudio and team. It sounds... like my amps.

I do have a question though, just to make sure I'm not going to hurt anything. My setup is:

Guitar -> Pedals via Switcher -> Amp -> X-Load -> Stereo Pedals via Switcher -> Matrix GT1000FX -> Two 1x12 Cabs

It sounds good, but I get a huge volume jump when I toggle the ground lift on the X-Load. From the X-Load manual it seems like the ground lift only applies to the XLR, but I'm using the unbalanced out. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong?

The ground lift also lifts the ground on the 1/4". I find I usually need the ground lift engaged.

That makes sense, and I was expecting to use it as well. Any idea what would cause the massive volume change? The LB-2 starts lighting up way more in the louder position too.
