How about an amp envelope release parameter for the synth block?

The trouble with this idea is that the pitch data goes away when the note stops.

Maybe this is a good time to wish for some synth advancements like "hold" mode, similar to pitch block "learn". Then a release time or infinite sustain mode would be more useful.

Even now, a release parameter could shape the decay while you're still holding the note, without having to use things like drive/compressor pre-synth.

Yes, you can make an envelope for it with the ADSR modifiers too. This was not quite what I had in mind, but rather having a release envelope after you depress the note... But obviously it won't work.
