I like a green tea called gyokuro, but I mostly avoid it. I'm a slow metabolizer of caffeine (CYP1A2 gene), which means I'm at increased risk of heart attack from consuming it.

I’ve often wondered if my CYP1A2 is over active as everyone in my family can consume large amounts of caffeine with minimal effect. It must be something I inherited from my dad.
One of my former residents had a CYP1A2 deficiency. She could drink half a can of Coke and be wired. I’m kind of jealous.
Out of curiosity, can you eat and tolerate chocolate? A lot of people think chocolate contains caffeine, but really it’s theobromide, which is in the same drug class as caffeine (methylxanthines, which also includes theophylline and aminophylline). Theobromide can have similar effects as caffeine, but typically isn’t as potent.
