Why hasn't inverted screen been done already?

There are a lot of things that I know take time and consideration. But a lot have asked for FC6 and 12 to have inverted screen like the Helix so you can read better at night. Can it not be done? What gives? Seems a simple request to be done IMO.

It's absolutely possible that the displays don't support it. I'd also love to have this for my self-built Arduino based midi controller, but the HD44780 chip in it simply doesn't support it. There's nothing I can do, except hack the thing, which I can't. I don't know what displays are built into the FCs, but as simple as it sounds, it simply isn't.
