Why can't we be beta tester for the Axe 3 editor.

On FB i spoke to a beta tester for the editor, In my head i said why can't we all be testers. I might find something someone else don't see. Put me on the list to test the beta editor.

Closed beta is an essential part of the software development lifecycle. It requires people with testing experience to be able to effectively use a product, test all capabilities, and report issues in detail. This is not a set of skills everyone has.

Open beta is suitable for everyone who is willing to experience potential bugs and issues.

Open beta too early in a development cycle can generate a lot of unnecessary noise and can be very distracting, slow development and steer efforts in the wrong direction. Kinda like when you are designing a feature... You gotta limit to a low number of people with a voice or you end up making a Homer Simpson car.

Do you want to test the product, or use the product? Because there's a difference. Just using a product and finding random bugs isn't testing.
