What can you love as much as guitar?

They were and continue to be the gold standard in my book...although I'm not sure many folks appreciate just how great they really were.
 
My biggest influence.

I learned to play guitar copping Kieth Emerson.

I learned to sing listening to Greg Lake. His voice could summon the angels or burn the choir. When I was 19 one of his songs saved my life.

I just wish the three of them could have gotten along better. Can't imagine what they could have created.
 
Pioneers in any endeavor are usually underappreciated until time proves what a genius they actually were. ELP were pioneers
 
I'm at that age where I'm getting used to losing my rock idols. All to often now, I'll read about another passing, and while sad, I might cue up their music and thank them for it. When I read about Keith Emerson, I was genuinely crushed. Their albums got me through some rough times, and highlight some great ones as well. My first real girlfriend was really into ELP as well, and I can't help but smile when I listen to their music.
