we all have our guitar heroes. So here is mine...different.

When I was in Chu Lai, yeah, you know, that place. I met a guy from Kentucky who played guitar. He was my first nudge towards the guitar. He said when you get home give a listen to a guy named ry cooder. So I did.
Many may not kow but ry cooder was backing up pop stars when he was 14. At the ripe old age of 23 yrs old he decided the hell with this. I'm going do my own thing.

Here's a cool video (imho). He has played with so many great bands, mainly because they knew how good and unique he was (is)
Strange I have never seen this video until tonight.
I am guessing most folks know him as the slide player and finger pickin blues player in the movie Crossroads................

One of my heroes as well...I recall my uncle trying to play vaseline machine gun on his 12 string and chucking it across the living room. lol

Ry has done so much for music across so many genres ...it is really commendable. Good stuff.
