Does anyone know if the warranty is still valid if you purchase an unopened FX-8 from a person or retailer other than direct from FAS?

They dont sell thru retailers and the warranty is only for the original purchaser

Can the extended warranty be purchased anytime before the one year is up or does it need to be at time of purchase? Thanks

Within one calendar year from the date of purchase.

I bought one off of a friend that got the invitation that he did not want so he paid for it through fractal and had them ship it to my address via a gift with the original receipt. He also told me if I had any problems with it he would have no problem taking care of the any warranty work for me.
