Wah - always on when pedal not connected

Hi,
Looking for bit of help…

I have Wah setup as Auto-engage (TRS lead, Pedal 1 o/p, Mission SP-1) on AX8 and works perfect.
However - when I don’t have the pedal at some gigs, the wah is always engaged at 100%.

I have changed "Ext Ctrl1 INIT VAL" to 0% but no difference, and then to 100% no difference. Whenever the TRS lead is not plugged in - wah is auto engaged 100%?

What am I missing?

Turn PC Reset - ON. Plug in pedal and turn Wah off, save preset. Now when pedal not plugged in it will start up in off state.

Also set Ext Ctrl 1 Init. Value to 100% to prevent wah from engaging on the first preset after powering on. (PC Reset alone is enough to prevent engaging on later presets.)

For Wah I think he wants 0%, since his auto engage is off at 5%...

See point #3 in link below. This only affects the first preset loaded when an onboard pedal port has nothing connected (and off value < 50%). After that the pedal value goes to 100% and init. value becomes irrelevant. (All true on Axe-FX II at least, assuming AX8 works the same.)
