VP4 reversing the order of blocks on the display

Is there anyway to reverse the order of the blocks on the screen to match “normal” pedal flow. Could this be something that’s added in the software at a later date?

With my FM3 it doesn’t matter because I can assign the the blocks to any footswitch with name above it. With the VP4 the only think you can see is the display screen with the blocks backwards to “normal” pedal flow.

I think that request was for the numbers on the unit to be changed physically, I’d like to be able to swap the “blocks view” in software.

Two different requests.

It's for the same reason, though... Signal flow of left to right vs right to left.

Fractal (along with every muli effect unit I've ever used) does left to right.

Yes. Left to right in the software to setup the signal chain. I’d just like more flexibility to view the signal chain on the face of the unit (not the computer software). Just like on the fm3/fm9 where you can customize the pedal switch assignments to whatever you like.

I felt like people looked at me like I had two heads when I requested this yesterday, so I promptly abandoned ship on it thinking it was I who was making an outrageous wish.

This is not like a normal multi effects unit... it's much more like four individual pedals, and the reason they called it a 'virtual pedalboard.' Multi-effects units might traditionally go left to right, but every pedalboard I've ever made or used has its signal chain going from right to left. The desire for reversing of the order never even occurred to me with the FM3, Axe-Fx III, or the FC units because of the scribble strips. But with the 1-4 numbers memorialized on the front it became very obvious when I started using the VP4 in a performance context in tandem with the FM3. As I said in the other thread: Oh well.

It's unfortunate that it can't be considered... I also agree that from a usability standpoint it makes more sense that the last pedal in the chain is on the left - as it would be on analogue pedalboard we are trying to emulate... The plethora pedals from TC allow for that and although not a massive big deal, it definitely makes my experience as an user better.

With the original FX8, the default order was right to left. I was happy when they released a software update with the FX8 that let us customize the effects order.

I'm hoping for a future VP4 update that would separate the pedalboard switch order from the signal flow that gives us the option to arrange our effects from right to left 4 < 3 < 2 < 1. This would better match the layout of a traditional live pedalboard.

I was about to create a thread on this as a request and saw this one.

No changes would be required beyond a selection in the settings that was something like signal flow: 1 >>> 4 or 1 <<< 4

then whichever is selected the 'signal' travels that direction. GUI stays the same. I dont care about the numbers on the unit, doesn't change anything.

I know that most modellers or all in ones run left to right but a lot of VP4's are going on pedalboards mixed with analog pedals. It's the only way I ever plan to use it. After using pedalboards for decades that always run right to left I would prefer to reverse the order of signal flow through the VP4 so the switches on my pedalboard also all follow the same path

Using the VP4 with my AM4… the jacks on the back are designed and work well going right-to-left. So I have them in a right-to-left configuration for cabling, but then the effects are left-to-right on each, so I end up with a mix of both which sometimes confuses my brain
:)

I’ve been playing MIDI boards for so long left to right is natural to me. All my effects were on a drawer and in a GCX looper so their order didn’t matter.

Signal flow here is NG->SP Comp->CS-3->Rack wah->805 Drive->Grid Slammer->C9. The EQ is in the 2 amp’s FX Loop right after a G-Major (stereo).

Every time I move my AxeFX rig my back says ‘thank you!’
