Version Information Cannot Be Queried

Axe Edit can be very frustrating. It's great when it works but ...

The latest issue I've been having is after launching Axe-Edit, it connects to the Axe, tells me its communicating, hangs there, and then comes back and says "Version Information Cannot Be Queried". After that it disconnects. I've tried reinstalling drivers and Axe-Edit itself. I've tried various combinations of rebooting the pc ( its a new, high powered Dell with Windows 10), and varying the order of turning on the Axe, the PC, and launching Axe-Edit. Have not yet found a combination that works.

I did a search on the forum and found this issue has been noted before but I didn't find a solution. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks ...

Here are some tips:
-Make sure you have the latest FW and AxeEdit.
-Try a different high quality USB cable that is less than 15' (even if the first cable works on other devices)
-Do NOT use a USB hub, try another USB port.
-Close Chrome and make sure the Chrome Icon in the System tray is also closed.
-Make sure you have the latest Firmware and AX8Edit.
-Power down the AxeFx and disconnect the USB cable.
-Power up the AxeFx and allow to boot completely before connecting the USB cable.
-Make sure no other Fractal software is running (eg: FractalBot)
-Now try and connect to AXE Edit

If all this fails try loading Axe Edit on another computer to see if it connects.

Changed the usb to a shorter cable ... all is working fine now! Thanks FAS
