Venting

HI Riffer,
I'm so far from you it'd make your eye pop! Just thought I'd ask - Have you reset the unit back to factory defaults? Quite puzzling what you are experiencing.
Thanks
Pauly

Hi Pauly! Yes I have, I have done every basic troubleshooting step usually recommended, like factory settings, input gain to tickling the red, "left only" and copy L+R output, etc etc.

At this point I just assume that I angered some kind of guitar God and he cursed my Axe.

I don't have Axe2 anymore, but just for reference this is from Axe3, "Brit 800", reset amp block, set input drive/bass/mid/treble/presence/master volume all to 5. Cab block is "4x12 Basketweave TV MIX". Nothing else in the chain. The same amp and cab ir are in Axe2 and should sound pretty much identical.

Awesome thank you, I'm going to reamp this first thing in the morning and post the result!

hi again,
well...something is definitely wrong as you have the second best amp modeler in the world there!
You’ve ruled out your monitoring, your lead, The axe fx, and your guitar so (if that’s 100% correct), it must be config. Afire you 100% sure you dont have amp modeling turned off in the global config or something?
thanks

Looks like it's something in my chain since your reamp turned out nicely:

And here is me playing a few chords on the same preset for comparison, you'll have to forgive the playing, I normally play chugga chugga metal. I'm playing through a Les Paul with Bare Knuckle pickups.

It's... a guitar tone, I suppose. But hopefully you'll notice the warmth and presence missing, as if power amp modeling is turned off or something.

i'll listen again later in the day, but they don't sound that different to me. your recording sounds like a les paul to me.

Try to listen with headphones or at a loud volume if you can . They do sound similar of course, but mine is very obviously (at least to me) missing the low end warmth, clarity and "punch", which should absolutely not be the case with a LP using these pickups. As I said above, it's simply like the power amp simulator is turned off in comparison with others, and no EQ has been able to bring it in.
