V13 update froze my unit!

What is everyone using to update with? Fractal Bot?
I used Fractal Bot and unplugged the MFC-101. Froze and won't come back. Reboot while holding down recall didn't help. Waiting for ROM delivery! I'm forced to play through regular amps like Barney Rubble did!

Hi all, same problem here upgrading from 12.03 to 13.02.

Now my axe fx2 has a blank screen and all the lights up. I tried to power on the unit pressing also the recall button but nothing changes.

I've just opened a ticket for support, waiting for fractal audio team help.

----EDIT----
Problem solved whit FAS eprom emergency kit.
The shipment has been very fast and the procedure is easy.
Anyway in end to end it takes at least a week to solve the problem.

Is there a something that inclines certain units towards this critical failure happening, or a fault in the update procedure, something to be able to assess and identify before committing to the update? Would love to do this update, but hitting the road in a few days - and if this happened to my unit with no time to fix it or replace a physical hardware part in Australia, I would be forced to tie myself to the pretty front handles of the Axe, and jump off a bridge somewhere... :roll

You can minimize the danger of that happening by doing nothing else on your computer while updating, I guess. If you can, you should also update from a windows machine. Seems much more reliable considering all the bug reports related to mac OS.

I've had nothing but issues with my Macbook Pro (running Mountain Lion) after power editing for the last month straight. Dropouts, crashes, problems with global blocks not loading, can't use as an audio interface due to lagging and clicky poppy business. Can't update to Mavericks because it kills the software I run on the gig. Took 3 times to update the firmware of the MFC 101, thought it was toasted... Bit frustrating overall... Oh well, time to sleep with the enemy and find a Windows typewriter to plug into my Axe... :cry Thanks for the heads up on that Z! What do you think, is it worth updating from 12.03, or best to wait until a gap in my schedule, in case anything should happen?

So the only solution to this is getting a eprom? Even holding the recall button down while powering up doesn't do the trick. Still froze and all led lights are lilt up. Just need to verify before I get an eprom.

Guys, this scares me a lot.
I live in a country that is not fair on importation issues. After seeing so many bugs on many threads, I decided not to update to FW13.
I live in Brazil. Can you imagine if I have to import a new EPROM from FA in the US?

Why would they not let you import an EPROM?

Just had the freeze up issue while trying to update to V13.02 as well. Sent a ticket to the support. If anyone knows another way to solve the issue, please let us know.

Only way is to get an EPROM. Very easy to install. Mine froze also while updating to fw13. I happen to have my mfc plugged in and was doing something else on my Mac. Best thing to do is not to plug your mfc in if you have one or run any other programs while updating. Got my EPROM install and it been running fine ever since with fw13

Not sure I want to know how you performed the update. :shock

Got the Eprom a couple of days ago from the guys at g66.eu, for free!!! Installed it yesterday and updated to 13.07 without any problems. Thanks so much for the great support, best product I ever purchased!

had this problem three times now. g66 support suggests to try another computer to update. there must be a real problem, cause many people have this problem...

Happened AGAIN to me. This is really getting frustrating.

13.07

I'm about ready to sell this goddam thing. If this is gonna happen with every new firmware update...

You guys are scaring me, just bought one for backup in case its ever needed. $7.24 with shipping is cheap insurance.

Does anyone know if there is a similar backup solution for the MFC? My MFC froze on an firmware update a few weeks ago and I had to send it back. FAS support was fantastic and got my MFC back to me in 7 days, but it would have been great if I could have done it myself in a few minutes.
