Using pedals with the fx8?

Hello,

Can the fx8 turn my overdrive/fuzz pedals on/off or bypass them? Or is there no way to use them without doing a tap dance when I change to a preset that requires pedals to be turned on/off/bypassed?

If I want to use my drive panels do I need something like this? Free The Tone – English | Audio Routing Controller ARC-53M

I'm not aware of a way for the FX8 to turn pedals on and off directly. I picked up an RJM Mini Effect Gizmo to use with the FX8. I plan to mount it underneath my Pedaltrain 3. The FX8 will send MIDI PC and/or CC commands to the RJM, which will control 5 or so drive pedals.

Another solutions, if you're using a single channel amp, is to build a looper with relays driven by the fx8 relays (or embed them straight inside the pedal). I'm considering to keep a pair of pedals, after having evaluated if the fx8 can replace them, and eventually i will build it, it's a very simple schematic
