Using a USB-XLR cable to connect an Utra/Standard directly to a computer?

Probably it has a low quality conversion.
I'd rather spend a few bucks on a fair Focusrite Saffire or on a 1 channel Apogee. I don't think that they are too expensive in the Usa.
I think it aint'a good idea to spend 1400-1600 dollars for an Axe Fx and ruin it's tone by purchasing a 20 $ audio interface.
My 2 cents.
