Updating the MFC firmware with the III

I bought a used MFC MK II and did a factory restore on it so I need to update the firmware. Can’t get my USB to MIDI connector to work. Fractal Bot sees it and is sending it but the MFC just says “Firmware Update” on the display and doesn’t show that it’s loading. Is it possible to configure the III as a MIDI interface to transmit the the MFC update like I did with the II? Can I do it via MFC edit? Or do I even need to worry about it since I’m just using it as a MIDI controller for the III?

Read the release notes on the FW. If there's nothing in there that fixes MIDI capability (THAT YOU USE), I would not worry about updating.

It's just a controller, so set and forget.
