Two night ago, about $20K worth of gear stolen from trailer.

Taken was my Ultra II MK XL...something not made anymore.
So, now I'm beginning to wonder..been lugging around an Axe since....2008?
They took the ATA case with my Axe but not the Stage V case that had the MFC and three pedals in it.
Somehow they got a QSC KW 181 out the door...but, it's a trailer with a door that opens like a drawbridge...the thing was two feet from the garage door.
SOMEHOW they lifted it over the door and out..but only took one.
The KW153s were too much for them so they left them...took two Mackie 450s we used to get the sound of V Drums onstage.

The III costs about the same as the II did.
But I'm seeing some pretty impressive sounds on all the FM9 videos I'm watching.... and...it's a single floor pedal not a six space rack with power conditioner, guitar Wireless and the Axe in it.
My needs are simple.
Not recording and not doing originals..I play casinos and weddings.
Of the almost 400 presets in the axe, I use, or edited and use...at most? 20....

I need a super clean, a slightly crunchy clean, chug, lead, metal....and efx..with a couple of odd off the wall sounds I intermittently use. I don't need 80% of what's in the presets on the Axe since I never use it. (TONE MATCH THOUGH..OMG...LOL)

IF IT WAS YOU...are you replacing the II with a III or replacing the II with an FM9 (though I'm now stuck with an MFC 101 I can't use for anything after an Ultra II (Thanks for that)

Sorry to hear what happened - people really suck sometimes (most of the time?).

Two considerations that come to mind:
  1. Do you depend on your gear for your livelihood? If so, do you want your main rig to be on the floor at gigs rather than in a rack?
  2. Depending on how quickly you need the replacement, you may not be able to get your hands on an FM9 in time. Axe3 is more readily available.

Indeed a consideration I was also thinking on.
The rack gear stays "like new" in the ATA shock case. I no longer have..lol)
Fucktard got my damned work..some of those presets I did create were made for specific songs to recreate a very specific sound...assholios...
Hope they choke on a pretzel.

Unbeknownst to the future owner- you just might recognize "your" custom patches out there in the musical universe. It's not quite over yet. I've had things stolen from me and trust me- your radar will increase 100 fold. You will start to see gear "that might be yours" everywhere. I think it's called musical-karma. Chances the new owner will buy it online but still you can hopefully track back the sale and recoup some of your gear and hold the person who stole it accountable. Check reverb often!

Very sorry to hear this. Was it an Ultra, a MkII, or an XL? Those are three different products.

2cents, for me it'd be a FM9, sorry about your misfortune, at least no one was hurt.

MK XL
The biggest piss me off is...the MFC 101 I spent close to $1,000 on is worthless with a III and I'm not looking to purchase someone else's issues.
I have NEW PRODUCT replacement cost coverage...so I want new...just pisses me off because that wasn't an accident of design..it's a plan...so you have to purchase more gear.

Thought I've been reading here the MFC doesn't play well with the III?
I'll have to go back looking through the threads

Someone else can chime in if I'm wrong, but I think the main difference is if you were using FASLink, you'd need to start connecting with MIDI cables and you'd need to use a power adapter. Otherwise it's just the lack of convenience of the FC6 and FC12 boards which depend on the FM3/FM9/III for their settings without need for mapping controls as one would need to with the MFC.

Very sorry to hear of the theft!

and on the Cable page, they have what they're calling a FASLINK II cable, to connect THE XL TO THE MFC 101???? damn, make it more confusing Cliff...lol

Well, I'm gonna piss some people off with this but...
it's been since 2009 with Axe Std..then Ultra I...then Ultra II MK XL
Plus the MFC 101 and three Pedals.
I'm into Cliff now for about $14,000 (which could very well be less than many of you have spent)
I have been doing some research and the inevitable outcome of any great discovery...others will eventually be making it to.

First off..I AM A LIVE PERFORMER and do little to no recording except when making new Demo materials. I literally have no need of 80% of what's in the Axe...

I took my entire rig to a guitar center (where I pretty much never spend money..I'm a mom and pop music store spender)
Plugged the entire rig into a Line 6 Helix and was astounded.
Every sound I need and I don't have to redo each preset because volume levels are insanely all over the place.
Plus I can use my MFC with it.

NOT TO MENTION $1,500 cheaper when all said and done.

I’m on the waitlist, and I’d like a quick clarification. You haven’t been using the third generation FAS products (FM3, FM9, AFX III), is that right?
