I was playing around with the TS drive and comparing to the "Klon" settings using the FET drive and discovered a really nice setting.
I started using the tube screamer type with the classic almost zero drive, and high level setting. This sounds great for leads but it's a bit too round for rhythym for me. The Klon / FET drive sounds a bit better. But taking it a bit further I now have a tweaked TS setting that sounds better than Klon/fet to my ears. I am pulling the mix down to 85% and bumping up the high cut just a touch to taste to 895ish. This is sounding really nice to me. It's going into a plexi type amp with moderate gain dialled up.. Pretty much the factory plexi100 preset. Using the "Petrucci V30 mix" IR with a bit of the factory "greenback mix" IR dialled in. Give it a try if your looking to experiment a little bit.
