Did I just luck out, or does it really have solid, bulletproof automatic tempo recognition? I dropped an mp3 track into it, and metronome "just works" somehow. Magic!
 
This has been Ableton Live's strength for a very long time.
It's a very good DAW for all the creative things, doing loops etc.
Real tracking with it is a PITA because there's no way you can do proper comping of takes.
Because of that it is not my main DAW.
Also I think that 9 has not enough improvements vs. 8 to make for a full upgrade IMO.
And the audio to midi feature is more of joke, actually.
