Trick to sustain with lead in 6.0?

Hey guys, I'm having a hard time finding a happy medium between drive and sustain as soon as I reset all parameters and loaded the new banks made for 6.0.

I'm working with the 6160, it has great tone for just playing, but if I start trying to do palm mutes or fast playing into lead, it just doesn't have enough gain in it to sustain and ring out notes for lead. I've tried two guitars, one with active one with passive pickups, my next guess is to play with the input trim unless there is any other hot ideas? I don't remember exactly what I did when I ran into this problem before.

Ultimately I want a bright punchy high gain lead tone that sustains to work with my EMG 707 active pickups that won't get muddy if I hit the lows on it.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks guys I'll give it a shot, thats exactly what I'm missing now that I recall learning the dynamics of a compressor a long while back before I stopped building patches and just played for a long time and forgot it mostly. Cheers
