Tone Matching my 12 string - is that a good idea?

Fractal Fanatic
Hey all tone matchers!

I've been asked to play my 12 string acoustic for a few songs next week, and have decided to break away from using the boring old DI box -> FOH so I'm going to use my Axe-Fx. :D

There are lots of you out there who have tone matched your 6 string acoustics with really good results, but I wanted to check if anyone has tone matched their 12 string acoustic before and how did that work out for you?

FWIW, I've never done a tone match before, so this will be my first attempt. Just want to make sure I'm not going to be wasting my time trying to perfect a 12 string tone match if it can't really be done for whatever reason.

The 12 string sounds 'ok' using the built in preamp, but really amazing with a mic which is pretty much the reason for me trying this out.

Thanks guys!
