Here is my take on Deep Purple-Burn. I also attach the preset file.

I used Tape Delay as distortion, yes you read it correctly, this is not Tape Drive.

I took Blackmore's California Jam tone as a reference, not the Burn album tone where he used AC30.

And as usual, sorry for my sloppy playing.

I used a custom strat with scalloped fretboard and Lace Hot Gold 6K pickups.

If you look at the preset, there is a second delay after the amp. Activate it for instant Mistreated tone. (Actually that one is closer to the real deal than Burn.)

Let me know what you guys think.

im a ultra user and im grinding away for his 95 rock palast tone.

oacikgoz, many thanks. Cant wait to try it when the Axe FXII arrives, due next week... I have two Strats to try it with a Ritchie Blackmore model and also an Yngwie Strat...

And before I forget, you really need a low-output bridge pickup (read "vintage") to capture the tone... It must be bright as heck. Somehow tape delay works like magic to make it sound right.

Don't be surprised if you don't get this tone with some high-output pickup, it sounds like crap with high-output pickups. Just warning you guys.
