1. Select a patch containing a Tone Match and go to the EXPORT tab in the TMA block.
2. Select a user cab block to save over.
3. Using the Y button, delete the name of the cab you want to save over.
4. Begin naming your new cab.
5. If you add a space (or several) using the RIGHT nav button, the ABC character input knobs (and the value wheel) no longer input data at the selected cursor position.

Alternatively:

Restart the Axe FX and follow steps 1, 2 and 3.

4. Leaving the first character blank, press the RIGHT nav button once.
5. Turn either the value knob, A, B or C quick controls a random amount like you were selecting a character. (Nothing will appear yet.)
6. Hit the RIGHT nav button again and select another random (invisible) character. Repeat this as far across the display as you wish.
7. Use the LEFT nav button to return the cursor to the first character in the diplay.
8. Use the value knob or A B C quick controls to input a character in the first position and all your previous randomly entered characters should now appear.

All my user cab slots are currently occupied, so I can't see if the same behavior occurs when trying to save to an already empty slot, or it just happens when an old name is deleted.

FW 11.04 Release notes say "Fixed problem editing IR names in TMA export and IR Capture Utility."

A different naming issue may have been fixed, but the problem above still remains in FW 11.04.
