Tips on how to tame upper midrange harshness live

Fair enough.
I'm just glad to get as close as it does. I've been using something else for over 4 years and the speaker was not fully separate so it never really got "there". I just wish I had a deeper understanding of the AX8 parameters within the amp (deep parameters) to know what variable changes have specific influences on tonal changes i.e. (what does what and why). With that knowledge and a Dr Pepper I might be borderline dangerous.

You have a lot of reading to do, start with the amp parameters...

...but there is lots more if you want to know all there is to know...

I use the main XLR to FOH always, but having the ability to play through a power amp and speaker cabinet at home is great......with it sounding like a tube amp through a cabinet. I guess I could also send some white noise through the SS power amp into my Yamaha HS8 studio monitor and see the spectrum curve versus flat to see how close it is. With any changes in mind required to flatten the response that could become a block and used for the preset. Maybe, yes??

I have this one and have read through it. I guess it's similar to taking classes that have labs. You can read a bunch of stuff, but hands on activities really drive home foundational information.

Most of them I have a grasp on, but some are more board level knowledge and having little tube amp parameter experience narrows my understanding/application of them. I know what I want to change when setting up my presets or comparing against the amps, but at this point I don't know everything within the AX8 to know exactly what parameter to change, at times, to get there.

Thanks for the links.
