Tips for using Fm3 as effects only into an amp

PLanning to use my Fm3 tonight for effects into the front of my Peavey Classic 30 amp. Any suggestions/tips? I'll use the Comp, a couple drives and delay/reverb mostly. Looking for things I should be aware of, like input trims, etc. Any help is appreciated.

In front of an amp can be tricky. You will need to test it out for a bit. I wouldn't worry about the input pad settings. I would be more concerned over noise\hiss\hum and how the amp will react to the added gain\comp.

Just to clarify, i'm not using the amp sims/cab blocks. Just wanna replace an aging pedalboard with the great effects in the Fm3. Kinda like using a VP4

... if the amp has an FX loop, why not use the 4 Cable Method? That's what I use with my Triaxis.

Guitar into the FM3, Out 2 Left into Triaxis' input, Triaxis' loop out into FM3' Input 2 left, then FM3' stereo Out 1 into Triaxis' stereo Loop return and then Triaxis' stereo outs into powe amp. This way I can place whatever FX in front and after the Triaxis. The tones are super tweakable and manageable. I'm also not using the amp/cab blocks.

The FM3's level 2 knob is maxed and level 1 is turned to taste/needs.

A good starting point is p. 36 in the manual, describing exactly what you are talking about.

It will work great but you will need either humbuster cables or a ground lift/hum-x for the amp. Also you will need to pad the input or you will get noise. I use my axe fx this way into a super reverb for most shows. To me this is the absolute best sound/experience!!

I occasionally use my fm3 at home with two standard xlr to mono jack cables on two Fender Junior amps equid with G12H30 respectively G12M25.

Works like a charm, put off ampsims and speaker sims and appreciate.

Just compression and a few standard "pedalboard" effect blocks in my case.
