Thread about how to set up FX Loop for external pedals?

I remember reading a thread regarding the proper way to set up your fx loop to run a pedal in it. It went into detail about how to minimize any noise issues. I can't seem to find this thread anywhere. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Yes would want to know this as well. Can someone here sum up how to do the settings in the fx loop block and I/O and output 2 front panel settings?
Have done it in the past with various high quality pedals but gave up because of the output 2 noise/hiss (Axe fx Mk1) but want to give it another try with my Eventide H9 and maybe some other pedals. Forgot how I did it.
