Thoughts on the Temple Audio Amp Module for the FM9?

So, the Amp Mod LOOKS awesome (https://www.sweetwater.com/store/de...eo-amplifier-module-100-watt-stereo-amplifier). The small form factor is really attractive, and ideal for a Temple board of course. 50 watts per channel is fine for me, I don't gig. BUT, I'm HIGHLY skeptical that it's as good as Sweetwater suggests (of course they're pushing products they sell ). If it's so "super-transparent", why the hell have the EQ? Sounds like BS to me. Talk me out of it, before I buy it!

Hmm, if they were available to order, I'd give one a shot because I don't think I'll need more than 50 watts per side.

My thoughts are that it was announced almost two years ago, and nobody has one in their hands.
Exactly. There's not even a manual for it available. I think it's vaporware.

The concept is really good though, I just think they should have made it a super simple Class D poweramp module instead of trying to have digital modeling and cab sim loaders involved in it. Just something that can make a digital unit loud into a guitar cab without influencing the sound in itself. I know you can bolt a SD Powerstage on your board but that will easily take at least one pedal's place.

I am very interested in this 'AMP MOD' as I am trying to keep my setup portable and efficient. I'm already planning on mounting my FM9 and (3) Mission Engineering expression pedals to a Temple Board. If these things are any good, maybe I could use it to power a pair of Mission Engineering Gemini 1 cabs for a backline. My hope would be faithful reproduction of my presets and adequate, yet not excessive 'stage volume'. Having two of these cabs could be sweet for running in stereo and having a little bit of fun with stereo effects or perhaps running dual amp chains. I'll likely buy one when they become available and shoot it out with other products. My only concern with the 'AMP MOD' is not having enough headroom to maintain a clean signal when the volume is turned up. We will see I suppose.

Here are couple alternatives:

Or perhaps a couple of these? They're small.

They probably don't sound very transparent though.
I’ve wondered about both of these and would love to talk to someone that’s used them. I’m curious about 1-Transparency of tone and 2-how loud can they get without saturation.

I had an ISP Stealth for about 30 days 7 or so years ago. It sounded fantastic with my Axe FX II but when I got it up to gig level all of my clean presets were dirty. In a pleasing way just kit what I wanted.

I was able to buy one a couple of months ago when it was briefly available. Using with Strymon Iridium (both amp modeling and speaker cab sim bypassed) and connected to a 2x12 cab with V30s. Definitely brings back the feel of playing through a real amp versus a cab sim through a PA speaker. Suppose you can turn back the cab sim back on and connect to stage wedges but I haven't tried that yet. Overall happy with the purchase as it makes my board much more flexible.
