Thinking of buying real amp. Am I mad?

I'm thinking of buying a mesa boogie Mark 7. Just like tinkering with controls and its a great amp. I used to have a MK5. But i mainly have been using AXE FX 3 for a while. Am i mad? haha Why bother getting amp, when the models in the Axe unit , especially Mesa models are vast. I have GAS. HELP. Suggestions.

You only live once, if it's disposable income, why not?

the fractal has mark 5 amp models, not mark 7

if you enjoyed the amp and got to try it out in person, get what you enjoy

life's too short, no one here has to stay on team fractal/digital side

enjoy both of what the analog and digital world has to offer, not everyone can do that

YET, i also had a vibroking amp in mind instead. mmmmm

I just got the Mark VII recently, I am really enjoying it. It is a little more crunchy/tight sounding than the JP2C, less full in the low mids and less 3D sounding, but it can get pretty similar tones to the yellow channel of the JP2C when the JP2C has the presence pulled. If you turn the EQ off on the Mark VII and JP2C they can sound almost identical, so I think something is different with the EQ circuit as well. Mark IV mode on the Mark VII has some pretty hyped bass, but I can put it in 45 watt mode and that tames that if need be.

Not really, no. It all depends on what you're looking for and what makes you happy.

I was blown away by the Axe FX III Turbo with FC12. But, I'm really enjoying some analog amp/cab modeling pedals and the VP4.

The problem I have with the 7 is that you can get V’s used for so cheap. Sure its an upgrade but its probably double the price for new VII vs V used. So if you decide you don’t like it you’re going to take a sizeable loss. I try out lots of amps, its fun, but I usually buy used and I know I can flip it and get my money back.

Love my Fractal but use it mostly with my Mesa Triple Crown. And yes the model in AxeFx is really damn close but I still prefer to use the real amp and AxeFx together. When it's not possible (no stage volume) use it with my Two Notes Torpedo Studio, but if possible with the real cab on the stage en plus! And only if it's a real hustle I use only my Fractal :)
So why not to buy an and that you want???? If you can that just do it!!!!!!! :)

Today I had a rehearsal at a rented rehearsal space. In the middle of setting up all the gear i brought I found out I had forgotten my FM3 at home...damn! I had to use the Marshall head and 4x12" there...I had not played a tube amp in like 10 years at least...but yeah, cool experience, like driving an oldtimer...we didn´t have seat heating and AC back then...or volume boost for solos...scenes...effects...

You would be surprised how many people here own both fractal products and actual amps because face it, when is it ever enough....the more the options the merrier!....just make sure you have fractal stuff in there too ;)
