Ohhhh I wanted a 284 so bad years ago...they were really revered and I kept reading how amazing they sounded. I think it had a low watt power tube so you could get that PA distortion at a low volume/line level which was apparently a huge part of it's mojo. Yea I would have been all over this too at one time...

Now I look at my home studio and it is do much more powerful than Alex Skolnik could have dreamed possible.
I still can't play like Alex though...
