The reason The Beatles used EPIPHONES...

Just stumbled on this video. Some great information presented. The person who made the video also does a great job of playing a few of the Beatles riffs on an Epiphone, like Get Back and Revolution. The camera angle is perfect for learning the riffs.

Looking at this video makes me think about two things:
1) playing the Beatles can be easy for a newbie but if you want to sound "like" the Beatles you have to get some techniques and do some sound research;
2) the sound of the Epiphone Casino is very good: I was thinking about getting a hollow guitar to have in studio and for around 500€ (yes the Casino VS model not the USA Vintage model that is listed for more than 2600€) this could be a right choice. What do you think?

I was think the exact same thing!

A couple years ago, I bought a Chinese made, Epiphone Casino for $600 CDN, including the case. It's an absolutely beautiful guitar, both to look at and to play. The P90's through my VOX amps, sound amazing. It's a very unique tone with the combination of the P90's and the hollow body.

small point: the casino is a hollow body, not semi-hollow body…
Can’t speak to the build quality of what you are looking at but the casino is a great guitar.
I really like the two p-90s which can just scream in a hollow body instrument….
Anyway I bought a mint John Lennon version, I think they built 1,965 of the 1965 Casino re-issue.
I’m pretty sure they were the last Casinos to truck out of Kalamazoo. Great guitar!

Great find really cool video Toopy14 really enjoyed the video I’m going to Watch that one again.

My grandfather had an Epiphone Casino Coupe VS, and it sounded amazing in his hands. Beatles riffs and Santana licks came naturally to the pair.

When he passed a couple years ago, I got the guitar, and it is a very nice instrument. It's not my style (7-string prog metal doesn't bode too well on a semi-hollow P90) but it really is an amazing guitar to pick up every now and then, especially for cleans-edge of breakup tones.

The electronics have been screwy, volume knobs being weird and pickup selector being even weirder, but a couple doses of DeOxit have really helped solve those problems.

I recently gave it a good cleaning, restringing, and setup, and it really is a beautiful guitar. This thread has made me want to pick it up more!

just sending my universal love for casinos to the thread - currently have a "Inspired By" Lennon model which is a bit different than the typical Chinese/Korean import models. Had the elitist and the Chinese gold top ones in the past as well... been eyeing that USA made one that came out recently... bank account says no though.

[ If you're looking at how to play Beatles riffs there's only one dude and it's Mike plays every part and talks about the history of the recordings. ]
