Thank you FAS/ Cliff, Recto1 is awesome as it was supposed to be!

Is this just the Recto in the latest release that has been out a month or so? Just curious if I am missing something NEW that was recently revamped in October 2013? Is the Recto he is raving about the one that is already in the latest release?

Just saw 11.05, downloaded it!

I was on #14 Recto Vintage. I thought that was the one, then the next sound is #15 and called Modern. What # on the AFX-II's Pres is the patch for Recto 1 and Recto 2? I JUST downloaded software update 11.05 from October 10, 2013.

I just scrolled (Quickly though Presets) #1 Through #383 and didn't see any Patch Named "Recto 1 or Recto2", just Recto Vintage (#14) and Recto Modern (#15)

What am I doing wrong?

I have a confession: I don't know what more than 3 of the real amps sound like that have been modeled, in this device. So, I don't recall amps and ask myself how true to the real thing they are. I just ask myself "Does it sound good? Does it fit the task I need it to do to play this song?"

I understand the goal is "to fool the guy that actually owns that tube amp" but as long as this box out performs my Digitech GP5, DSP128, Digitech GT21pro, Roland GP-8, Roland GP-16, ART SGEII, Korg A3, A2, A1, Digitech 2101, Boss GT-6, Digitech RP1000, Line6 POD X3 Live, or POD HD500, I'm good to go.

I can't remember what my Marshall JCM800 combo or Mesa Studio preamp sound or felt like at this point 25 years later.....

I just know this box rocks....thanks Fracal for making it better than those other adolescent distractions I went through before meeting you.

For me the thing with recto is, you just turn it on and go. This never happened with the 3 channel versions, but the old two channel and f.ex. Real Roadster it does. Of course you need the right IR but with this Recto1 tweaking is just so easy. The normal mode is also really cool if not better than the red modern when you crank the presence up.

Oddly enough, I just selected a Recto on my Ultra FW 11 and it sounded great.

Is the Recto on the Ultra FW 11 the more recent version of the Recto? (3 channel version?)

Add me as yet another of the - "This is just flat out awesome sounding"
I immediately could recognize that signature harmonic character of the old Recto amps and am enjoying my new recto. Cheers FAS!

I'm on the band wagon here too......I've been decidedly shying away from the MesaBs in the Axe II. Strange since my last real amp was a MK-IIB. The Recto1 with and TS808 Mod has mojo, it is now in my top 3 rotation.

I figured it out after I posted, but THANKS for the clarification guys. I really need to start getting in this unit and going crazy. I haven't even created an amp myself. I need to get out more often.

I've owned a Single Rectifier, two different 3-channel Dual Rectos, and a Roadster. The Roadster was BY FAR the best sounding of the bunch.

Yeah I've also played single rec, 3ch dual rec and two Roadsters. Roadster has always been the best of those easily

i have a pair of the "holy grail" 2 channel dual rec rack mounts. they are the best sounding amps ive ever heard. ive never been able to get any of the rectos in the axe fx 2 even close but with this new version FAS just released, a matrix gt1000fx, and a cab its really close. i can hear a difference but they are VERY similar. if i went on a mission to actually A/B them and tweak til they were identical i honestly think i could with this new model. thats a huge statement in my book. between this and the 5150 block letter model i have about the heaviest sounding amp on earth. well, technically we ALL do, haha.

Here's a dumb question.. where is the presence knob on the Recto1 Red modern block?

Edit. I see there's no presence on the other recto modern sim. Is that mode without presence on the actual amp?

On the actual amp it's called Presence but it's actually a high-cut. On the model it's called "Hi Cut".

In fairness, that's probably the same for most of us. I've owned a JVM, AC30, AC15, played through Rectos, 5150s, JCM800s, Fender Twins and Reverbs. The box fills all of my guitar tone sonic porn desires and then some.

i finally got around to checking this one out, and just immediate YES. so full of YES. it brought a smile to my face, it was just so good. tomorrow i'll see how it sounds recorded and hope that it wasn't just because i haven't played loud in awhile haha
