Tape Stop/Ramp-up effect. Possible?

Hello all,

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on an XL. This question is not in the spirit of making the buying decision. I'm wondering out loud if there is a way to 'fake' a tape 'stop' and/or 'ramp-up' effect with the Axe-FX. Has anyone tried this with a tape-delay emulation?

Humor me. Perhaps we'll get something cool out of this discussion.

Thanks!

You can assign a modifier to the tape speed on the tape delay model in the delay block to mimic tape ramping up and ramping down. Works quite well.

i made a patch to ramp down using the whammy ages ago. i attached a switch to the pitch control, so it was neutral when the switch was off and then went down three octaves slowly when the switch was activated. when the pitch got to minimum, the block would automatically bypass (set to mute and controlled by the same switch) so you would get silence. great for the end of songs and everybody would look around going "what???!". the mix was also attached to the same switch, so the block was at 0% in normal play and you wouldn't feel any latency from the shifter

you could probably do the reverse to ramp up
