Sysyex Receiver Window Won't Open

When I click on Tools>Receive Dump a window opens with checklist of things to do. When I click Done, it closes and nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

MFC connected via Midi>USB- No Axe interface.

Too many Y's in thread title-oops

Not on macOS Mojave are you? There was a post yesterday that the Receive portion of MFC-Edit is not compatible under Mojave and to use Fractal-Bot to get the sysex dump instead...

You followed the steps and did all the button presses to put the MFC into the transmit state, yes?

Gary goes through the "Receive Dump from MFC-101" steps in this video (around the 5m47s mark)

Can you please provide the following information (get it from Help->Errors, Information and Support):
  • OS?
  • MFC-Edit version?
  • Java version
  • MIDI interface brand and model?
Actually, paste the entire text from the Help->Errors, Information and Support to this ticket for me please.
Thanks.

Here is the log -Deleted reg code and name. Using windows 10. Tried Fractal-Bot also and didn't work either so???? Computer recognizes midi via usb connected- just no communication.

Interface is iConnect Mio. maybe the culprit?

Thanks Chris. You have all the right software as far as the editor is concerned. I would guess based on the information you're sharing that you need to install a specific driver for the iConnectMio. If Windows sees it, but neither Fractal Bot nor MFC-Edit see it, I suspect a driver issue. If FB and MFC-Edit see the iConnectMio but can't transmit through it there may be some Windows persmissions/security thing going on. Also, make sure the iConnectMio's MIDI OUT is connected to the MFC-101 MIDI-IN. Also, try setting the Manual Transmission Delay a bit slower. If there are any LEDs on your model of the iConnectMio they should blink when MIDI traffic is seen from the computer or MFC-101. If there aren't any LEDs then I don't know how you can tell if MIDI data is being transmitted. I quick googling around shows that your iConnectMio is a little flaky - at least, on Windows 10. Sorry I couldn't help more.

This the first report of this problem but I'm guessing that it is a Java security setting. Check your Windows error logs/System logs - there may be more information in there. If the Transmit/Receive window won't even open then there is probably MIDI module crash happening and there'll be errors in the system logs.

Love/hate relationship with PC computers- Love to hate them. Mac everywhere else in my life except I figured the one PC I own could do one thing- Fractal interface with MFC-Edit, Axe-Edit, Bot etc...Always issues!

Was able to load MFC-Edit with sysex via Bot so at least I am workable. Will try to figure out security issue with PC or buy another Mac- which ever is easier!

Thanks a bunch for the help guys- really appreciate it!
