Switching layout thoughts after running XL + RJM.

Hi all.

I'm thinking to narrow my setup, recently bought an AX8 to see if it can replace my Axe XL + RJM22 board.
As you know, the XL + RJM22 together are a killer control combination.
I'm trying how to decide about the AX8 switches layout.
I need access to:
All 8 presets / bank.
Bank up / down.
I use sometimes up to 5 scenes.
I hardly use FX on / off and I don’t use X/Y at all.
Would like to hear you guys who switched from MFC or RJM etc. to the AX8, how did you setup your switches layout?

why do you "need" all 8 presets per bank? could you use maybe 6 presets per bank, giving you 2 extra immediate switches?

if i have any tip, it's to not think of the AX8 like a small Axe-Fx. that will confine you to what the Axe can do and just wishing the AX8 was exactly the same, which it's not.

try to approach it new and modular.

Yes, I am thinking different with the AX8, however I have my XL all setup for our band so I'm trying to replicate it the best I can with the 8.
I think I'm going to do the following:
Switches 1 – 4 = presets per bank.
Switches 5 – 6 = chorus + delay (I use it a lot).
Switches 7 – 8 = scene 2, 3.
